Bio

Elias Plagianos is a New York based writer, director, and producer currently developing a new series for Netflix with bestselling author Harlan Coben. His film and television work has earned over 75 international awards, including Best Director, Best Feature, Best Short, and Best TV Pilot at major festivals—among them three Oscar-qualifying events and more than 10 named to MovieMaker Magazine’s Top 25.

 

Plagianos recently won Best Director at SeriesFest, the premier U.S. television festival, for Hit Man: Secrets and Lies, a project he is adapting into a series based on Lawrence Block’s acclaimed Hit Man novels.

 

His detective drama Hudson Falls, starring Richard Kind, Jessica Hecht, and Robert Burke, premiered at CANNESERIES, where it was named a festival favorite by France’s 20 Minutes newspaper. The series is now streaming on Amazon Prime Video.

 

Other recent credits include Distemper (funded by the Alfred P. Sloan Foundation), Triggered (produced with John Leguizamo, premiered at Tribeca), Rancour (for Blumhouse’s CryptTV), and the award-winning Cuban neo-noir Sombra City.

 

He is also a founding partner at Zero Channel, a new media venture, where he created and directed Shoot Me Nicely starring Linda Hamilton and William Sadler—named Best Independent TV Pilot by Sky TV.
